| Elephant hawkmoths are common in my garden, and a sure sign that summer is really on the way. Their wonderful colouring really gets people talking about them, and they are attractive to children. |

| Seen rarely in repose, this Broad-bordered Bee hawkmoth, which is a day flyer, is mostly seen in a hovering flight, nectaring at Bugle plants. This one was at Vert Woods in East Sussex. |

| Cornwall was alive with hummingbird hawkmoths in early September 2006, and these pictures were taken at Polruan. Unusually, in the lower picture, I found one at rest. |
