Photographed from the hide at Loch of the Lowes in Perthshire in June 2005, this record shot (Osprey-01) actually shows the two chicks in the eyrie, and the situation here is far more photogenic than the Loch Garten site. Having said all that, I saw Ospreys on many of the lochs I visited during that visit, and I believe there are close to 200 pairs now breeding in Scotland.

Osprey-04 is a picture of a young bird at Shapwick Heath in Somerset in August 06 where it spent some time, feeding on small fish.

Back at the Loch of the Lowes in 2008, and the birds were showing well, although the male was not the best provider. In picture -10 he is carrying a fish, a small perch, that can hardly have represented even 1 "chicken nugget" to a hungry chick.

Whereas the bird below, at Insh Church was doing very much better. The pike being carried in here was around the 2-lb mark by my estimation.
