Fairly widespread in the Forest of Dean, this lovely little bird was a regular visitor to my garden when I lived in Soudley. They arrived a week or so either side of Christmas, and departed around the beginning of September, having often brought their young in to use the feeders, mostly the niger seed. The picture below is the first I have taken of a siskin in Cornwall, feeding on the alders at St Andrew's Pool.
